University Village Thousand Oaks Opens New Tennis Court
THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF. - Tennis is a hit at any generation, especially for the seniors at University Village Thousand Oaks. The continuing care retirement community recently celebrated the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of its new regulation tennis court with the help of Michael Bensen, women's tennis coach for California Lutheran University. He explained how volleying in tennis enhances leg and arm strength as well as hand/eye coordination. An advocate for the need to stay physically fit at any age, Benson has begun scheduling clinics for the residents at University Village.
Representing University Village at the ribbon-cutting were (left to right) University Village resident Nick Minick; Bart Loy, construction manager for the new tennis court; resident Frances Kersbergen; and University Village executives Warren Spieker and Ernie Sandlin
