'Erin Go Bragh' at University Village Thousand Oaks
THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF. - St. Patrick's Day Parade. Residents of University Village Thousand Oaks, the continuing care retirement community, celebrated the "wearing of the green" with their first St. Patrick's Day Parade and Party. Approximately 100 residents and their dogs as well as University Village staff members donned Irish dress, costumes and hats for the parade and party, which also featured Irish music, decorated golf carts, scooters and bicycles. The parade wound through the community and ended at Catalina Hall, where the residents enjoyed green beer and traditional Irish food, along with a variety show of Irish songs, impersonations and a bit of blarney by entertainer Phil Birdsell.
